Grilled Goodness and Great Company at Korean Palace, Baguio

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ปStory

Some dinners arenโ€™t just about foodโ€”theyโ€™re about coming home.

My college friends finally came back for a short vacation after months of working far from our hometown. While I chose to stay close to home, they pursued jobs in different cities. But distance never changed our bond.

To celebrate the short reunion, they treated me to dinner at Korean Palace, one of Baguioโ€™s popular Korean BBQ buffets. With the cityโ€™s cold weather and our shared love for spicy food, it was the perfect pick.

We laughed through the smoke rising from the grill, shared updates about work, and even spilled a little gossipโ€”just like the good old days. I didnโ€™t realize how much I missed them until we were sitting there again, together.

โ˜• My faves

  • ๐Ÿฅฌ Samgyupsal (Grilled Pork Belly) โ€“ Sizzled on our table grill, wrapped in lettuce, dipped in ssamjangโ€”classic and satisfying.
  • ๐Ÿš Kimbap (Seaweed Rice Rolls) โ€“ Flavorful, filling, and addictive.
  • ๐Ÿฅ— Radish Salad โ€“ Refreshing and slightly tangy; one of my surprise favorites.

We each had our favorites, but mostly we just enjoyed being together again, catching up on each otherโ€™s grown-up lives.

I was burned out. Work was getting to me. But for one night, everything felt lighter. Surrounded by friends who truly understood my struggles, I felt comforted and recharged.

It wasnโ€™t just a reunionโ€”it was a reminder of who I am when Iโ€™m not stressed.
