Birthday Freakshakes and Sister Time at Beans and Mugs, Baguio

Beans and Mugs

👩🏻‍💻Story

Our little trio from high school, affectionately called the “Tres Marias,” never misses a birthday. So, when our best friend turned 22, we knew we had to try something special—and trending.

Enter Beans and Mugs, a cozy café in Baguio known for their freakshakes—giant frappes stacked with toppings that are almost too pretty (and too big!) to drink.

Luckily, we snagged seats right away, even though it’s often packed with a line outside. We brought our cake, sang our hearts out, and dug into our drinks and fries like it was the weekend.

A few weeks later, I told my sister about the café and how wild the shakes were. She lit up, and we made plans to go after work. On our second visit, the shakes were just as massive — and the memories just as sweet.

☕ What We Ordered

First Visit:

  • 🍵 Matcha Overload Freakshake – Rich, creamy, and perfect for a matcha lover like me.
  • 🧀 Cheesy Fries – Loaded with cheese and bits of beef, it was the perfect salty partner to the sweet drink.

Second Visit (with my sister):

  • 🍓 Strawberry Lush Freakshake – It was so big, I didn’t even know where to start!
  • 🌿 Pesto Pasta – Simple but flavorful, and not too oily—definitely a win.

We mostly sipped and giggled, just enjoying our time together after a long day.

This café wasn’t just about the aesthetic freakshakes or the food—it was about friendship, birthdays, sister bonding, and the joy of finding little hangout spots in the city.

It was loud. It was sweet. It was us.
