From Classrooms to Coastlines: Our First Escape After Graduation

Getaway to Cabaguan, La Union

🎓 From Board Exams to the Beach

A year after our college graduation, life started to speed up. We passed our board exams, landed jobs, and managed to save a bit of travel money. And just like that—we finally made it happen: our first real out-of-town trip as friends.

This was especially exciting for me because… well, let’s just say my dad never allowed sleepovers or school-unrelated trips. 😂 So when we planned this 2-day 1-night escape, I was beyond thrilled.

🚌 The Road to Cabaguan

We hopped on a bus from Baguio to La Union. A couple of hours later—and after a fun tricycle ride—we found ourselves in Cabaguan, no detailed itinerary, no hotel bookings… just our backpacks and excitement.

We didn’t even know where we were going to stay. All we knew was: we wanted the beach. 😄

🏖️ Beach, Barbecue, and Bonding

After a bit of roaming around, we found a humble yet lovely beach resort with affordable rooms. We unpacked, prepped our food, and fired up the grill. The smell of BBQ in the salty air—chef’s kiss.

Then came the best part: swimming until sunset, laughing like kids, playing like the stress of work didn’t exist.

🔥 Bonfire Talks and Big Dreams

That night, we made a small bonfire and gathered around it. With the stars above and waves nearby, we talked about our dreams, fears, and where we saw ourselves now that we were in the “adulting” stage.

Funny how you go from deadlines and group projects to budgeting, job hunting, and figuring life out.

🌄 Sunrise & Sweet Goodbyes

The next morning, we woke up early to catch the sunrise. It was peaceful, golden, and quiet—the perfect way to end our short escape.

By lunchtime, we were packed and on our way back home… tired, sun-kissed, and full of unforgettable memories.
